UK Access Management Federation resources

We are still having some issues with UK Access Management Federation resources, including Dawsonera ebooks and RefWorks.  We have a temporary login screen which looks different to the normal one but still works. You may however get a message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate", if so click "Continue to this website (not recommended)" and you will get through to the login screen.

Goodbye WebBridge, hello LinkSource

Webbridge
You may be familiar with the WebBridge button, which helps you get from a citation or abstract to the full text of an article, if the library has it.  We are in the process of changing from WebBridge to a new service, LinkSource, which does the same thing (but we hope it will do it better).  Look out for the LinkSource icons:

and let us know if you have any problems.

Library catalogue downtime extended to 12 noon

Work is taking longer than expected - alternative access to many resources here. In the meantime, there is no access to the library catalogue.

EBSCO Resources via Mobile Devices

EBSCO have now released an Android App along with their existing iPhone App.

To register for the service you need to access an EBSCO service via a normal login route, either on or off campus.

At the bottom of the database / search screen is a link to the Android  / IPhone registration page.

Enter your email address

You will then receive an email which you must open on your mobile device.

The first step is to download and install the appropriate App from one of the two links given.

Then activate access via the link in the email and the App will open and show your preferred search interface.

If you want to switch to a different search interface eg from EBSCO Research Databases to Discover, then you will need to access that service from a normal browser on your PC or mobile device and reregister the link at the bottom of the page of that service. You do need to do this each time unless you are reusing the existing email authentication link within 24 hours.

Any queries please ask!
