Taylor & Francis ejournals downtime, Saturday 28th June

We've been warned that the Taylor & Francis e-journal platform will be down for maintenance for about 2 hours on Saturday 28th June, starting from 2.30 am BST. This will only affect ejournals with www.tandfonline.com in the URL.

We've been warned of downtime planned for Westlaw UK from 11:30 pm on Saturday, 28 June 2014 to 4:30 am on Sunday, 29 June.



Scopus error

We've had a problem reported accessing Scopus through the first link on the library catalogue, although it doesn't appear to be affecting all users all the time.We have reported the issue to the publisher. However if this does affect you, you should still be able to get access through the UK Access Management Federation link.


An introduction to citation databases - drop in sessions at Luton 30th June and 1st July

  • Learning Resources will be providing drop-in sessions for researchers interested in the use of citation databases.
  • Taking place on 30/06/2014 & 01/07/2014, the drop-in sessions will be held between 12.30pm-2.30pm in TR2 Luton LRC (both days).
  • This includes the use of Scopus, Web of Science and even Google Scholar.
  • All that is needed is a topic for research and one of the Academic Liaison Librarian team will get you one step closer to making the most of citation data.

Endnote Online and ResearcherID: Planned Infrastructure Maintenance - Sunday 22 June 02:00 to 17:00 BST.

We've had notice of downtime for Endnote Online and ResearcherID on Sunday 22 June, 02:00 to 17:00 BST. There will be a  complete outage to EndNote online services and applications, including ResearcherID,  during this time.

Dawsonera ebooks currently unavailable

We've had this message from our supplier:


dawsonera is currently unavailable 

Due to an unforeseen technical issue, dawsonera has been unavailable since 13:40 on Wednesday 18th June and our engineers have been working throughout the night to restore the service. Unfortunately the issue has not yet been resolved. At this stage we are unable to provide a time scale for when the service will resume, but we assure you that we are working hard to resolve the issue as efficiently as possible.

Problem accessing Scopus via UK Access Management Federation

We are currently having problems logging into Scopus via the UK Access Management Federation.  We have reported this to our supplier so we hope it will be fixed soon. You can still access Scopus via this link, which is unaffected by the problem.

Dawsonera downloads via Chrome - update

Dawsonera have told us that the problem is:
because Chrome is attempting to open the pdf in it's own pdf application, which isn't compatible with Dawsonera. Try opening the downloads in Adobe Reader. The files which have already downloaded will be in your downloads folder.


Dawsonera ebook download problems in Chrome

We're getting reports that Dawsonera ebook downloading isn't working correctly in Chrome. We have reported this, but in the meantime you can use Read Online in Chrome, or use another browser.

Wiley Online Library will be disrupted Saturday, 7 June from 10:00-15:00 BST  for essential maintenance.

This will affect all ejournals with "onlinelibrary.wiley.com" in the URL.
