Bob (Box of Broadcasts)
After a successful trial last year, the library has subscribed to BoB (Box of Broadcasts) and it is now fully available.
BoB is an on-demand streaming platform for film, television and radio resources. It gives access to an archive of over 3 million programmes, dating back to the 1950s and offers recordings of 75 free-to-air channels.
BoB automatically records and preserves broadcasts from all major UK free-to-air channels, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and news content from BBC News, Sky News and Al Jazeera, making it the most comprehensive audiovisual resource available.
How to access?
You can access BoB via DISCOVER or directly at https://learningonscreen.ac.uk/ondemand
Click sign in, find the University of Bedfordshire from the drop down menu and click go. When prompted, login with your usual university username and password.
It is fully accessible to staff and students in the UK.

You can add a BoB programme to your BREO unit, create clips and playlists.

Ebook Central problems update (“Sorry, your institution does not allow access to ProQuest Ebook Central from your current IP address”)
ProQuest have not completely solved this problem, but they have come up with a fix.
If you see the error “Sorry, your institution does not allow access to ProQuest Ebook Central from your current IP address”, it is because of a specific cookie on your device. If you go to https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/clearcookie/clearcookie.html, you can clear this cookie and should be able to proceed normally.

We are getting reports of users seeing this error message when trying to access ebooks from Ebook Central
We are waiting for ProQuest to fix this, in the meantime they suggest
- Clear your web browser history, cache and cookies
- Try an incognito web browser window
- Try an alternative web browser
