Cite them right account creation problems

We are aware that some students have had problems creating their personal accounts on Cite them right online.

We have been following this up with the provider and it turns out that their system has a problem with passwords which have punctuation in them, so please don't include any when you set up your personal account. Once you have set a password, you should get a confirmation email which you have to accept before you can get into the account. Check your spam/junk folder if you don't see it. If all else fails, contact us via SID and we contact the supplier to get it sorted out. 

Endnote Fusion now live!

RefWorks has now officially changed its name to Endnote Fusion (not to be confused with Endnote Web, which is another reference management system altogether - not confusing at all 🤷‍♀️)

The URL has not changed and you should be able to login as usual with your UoB account and see any references you had saved before the change. If you do have any problems with any of it please do report it to us via SID.

RefWorks changing to Endnote Fusion on 6th October 2026

On 6th October 2026, RefWorks will be renamed EndNote Fusion.

When this happens, you will be automatically redirected to the new site, and all your existing accounts, references, projects, folders, attachments, tags, custom citation styles and sharing permissions will transfer automatically.

No action is required for existing RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) users. The writing tools will work seamlessly without reinstallation or additional downloads.

The current bookmarklet will be renamed Save to EndNote Fusion and will remain available for users who prefer to continue to use it, but will no longer be available to new users. There will be a new browser extension instead.

If you have any issues on or after 6th October, please raise a query on SID.

Library management system problems

We are having some issues this morning with our library management system, which manages our book collection, loans and requests. 

We are working to fix this urgently and in the meantime are operating manual book issue and return from customer helpdesks in our libraries. 

Digital resources including DISCOVER, ebooks and ejournals should be functioning normally.

 

MYPrint Service Maintenance - Monday 14 September

 

Following the recent identification of a security vulnerability affecting some externally facing services within the MYPrint portal, we will be updating the system to the latest version, which includes the necessary security patch.   This maintenance will take place on Monday 14 September from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.   During this period, the MYPrint system will be unavailable. We expect all services to be fully restored by 2:30pm. If after this you still have any problems, please raise this via SID.
