DISCOVER Folders reminder

This is a reminder that from 8th July onwards the Library will be updating access to the DISCOVER Folders option, which allows you to store references and articles you find in DISCOVER within a personal folder.

There is a possibility that the updating may overwrite the contents of some users’ existing folders. Students who use Folders in DISCOVER should therefore follow these instructions before 8th July 2019 in order to save their references and articles.

If you have any questions or are having problems with saving your references, please contact library.technical@beds.ac.uk

LRWEB problems - search box update

We are still having some issues with our website, LRWEB, following the recent system change. However, we are pleased to report that one of them is fixed - the search box on the front page now searches DISCOVER, as it is supposed to do. Please let us know about any other things you notice that are not working properly.

LRWEB problems - some links broken, and search box seaching library catalogue instead of DISCOVER

The university has been upgrading the system that delivers our webpages this week, and unfortunately we have discovered some of the functions on the library website (LRWEB) are now not working properly.

The search box that used to take you to a search of DISCOVER, is now taking you to a search of the library catalogue.

The difference is that the library catalogue just lists book and journal titles, it doesn't search articles for you the way DISCOVER does - so you won't see the same sorts of results. Also, the link https://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/discover, which we usually recommend for direct access to DISCOVER, is not redirecting properly and is taking you back to the LRWEB home page.

DISCOVER is still available, via the link we've used in this post, or alternatively by going to the library catalogue and clicking the Search with DISCOVER button.

There may also be other links which are not working as they should do. Please bear with us as we try to get this fixed as soon as possible.
