If you search DISCOVER you'll notice that the LinkSource button which takes you out to content held outside DISCOVER has changed to Full Text Finder. It does exactly the same thing, taking you from information about an article in one database, to full text held in another.
Over the next few days the LinkSource links out from other databases such as Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar will also change to Full Text Finder links. We are not expecting any broken links during this transition but if you do come across any please let us know.

LinkSource problem fixed
We believe that the problem with LinkSource not opening correctly and giving a blank page is now fixed. If you do continue to have any problems, please let us know.
LinkSource problem
We are having problems with LinkSource, the service which redirects you from results in one database to the full text article in another. Instead of opening the LinkSource page, we're getting blank pages. We think that the problem is something to do with the software we use to authenticate you as University of Bedfordshire students. We are looking for a solution, but in the meantime we suggest clearing your browser cookies and cache, and starting a fresh browser session. Alternatively, if you are on campus, delete the 0- and the .brum.beds.ac.uk from the address bar, until the address startes linksource.ebsco.com, and refresh. You should find the page loads correctly. In the last resort, you can use the library catalogue to find the journal title you want and browse through to the article that way.

DISCOVER - problem with links to BioMedCentral journals
We're having a problem with the automatic linking from DISCOVER to BioMed Central journal articles.
The "Check BioMed Central for full text" link is going to an error page, rather than the full text.We are working on getting this fixed, but in the meantime you can still access the full text by another route. You can search the Library catalogue for the journal title, or, since BioMed Central articles are all Open Access and freely available on the web, just do a Google search for the article title.

Problem with the 'Linked Full Text' links on DISCOVER & away round it
Unfortunately, the Linked Full Text link for results on DISCOVER has stopped working. We have
reported to the fault to the service providers and asked them to correct
the fault as a matter of urgency.
But do not despair! The links to all the electronic journals
from the library catalogue are still working. So, if you have found a reference
to an article on Discover like this one
O'Bannon, B, & Thomas, K 2014, 'Teacher perceptions of using mobile phones in the classroom: Age matters!', Computers & Education, 74, pp. 15-25
The article is in the journal ‘Computers & Education’. Click
on the link with the tulips symbol next to it to find the journal on the Library
Catalogue. Then follow the onscreen links to find volume 74 published in 2014.
The article starts on page 15.
If you have any problems with this during the day, pop along to the Study Hub helpdesk and one of our Academic Liaison Librarians or call your ALL. Out-of-hours, our Reader Services team will be happy to help you.
But we hope that EBSCO (who provide DISCOVER) will fix the problem very soon. Thank you to everyone who reported the problem overnight.

"Linked full text" and "LinkSource" options not appearing in Discover
We are having a bit of trouble today with "Linked full text" and "LinkSource" options not appearing in DISCOVER when they should do. It is being investigated urgently, but in the meantime you can still see the links if you add the item to your folder, and then look at the folder. If we do have access to the full text of the article, you should then see the correct link.
Please let us know if you come across any other issues in DISCOVER.

Problems getting to Newsbank articles from DISCOVER
We're getting a variety of error messages when trying to access Newsbank newspaper articles found in DISCOVER or using the LinkSource button. We are trying to find a solution to this with our suppliers - however in the meantime you can still get access to the articles, if you go direct to Newsbank and choose either Access World News or NewsBank Newspapers - U.K. and Ireland, depending on the source of your article. You can then copy and paste the article title into the search box and you should find it.
If this still doesn't work for you, let us know at library.technical@beds.ac.uk.

Accessing newspaper articles from Discover - still having problems
We're still having trouble with the automatic linking to some of our newspaper content from Discover.
It's not affecting all articles, but where it is, you get to an error
message "Sorry. There are no articles that contain all the keywords you entered". If this happens to you, you can still get to
the full text by following an alternative route. Go to NewsBank (you will have to choose between UK and World newspapers) and search for your article title from there. If the article is from the Financial Times, use this link.
The linking problem has been reported to our supplier and we hope it will be fixed soon.

Getting to the full text of an article from British Nursing Index
Databases like British Nursing Index are indexes of citations, rather than collections of full text articles
- so we do not necessarily have full text for each result. However, from the result list in
British Nursing Index you can click the "LinkSource" button to find out whether
or not we have full text access to that article.
In many cases we do - if so follow the link under "Resources Located for this Citation" and you will get through to the article.

Goodbye WebBridge, hello LinkSource
You may be familiar with the WebBridge button, which helps you get from a citation or abstract to the full text of an article, if the library has it. We are in the process of changing from WebBridge to a new service, LinkSource, which does the same thing (but we hope it will do it better). Look out for the LinkSource icons:

and let us know if you have any problems.
