The Wiley Online Library (onlinelibrary.wiley.com) site is currently down, which will affect access to any journal or ebook content on this platform. We can only wait for Wiley to fix this problem. 

Wiley ejournals problem

 There is currently a problem with the Wiley ejournal site.  Wiley are working to fix this as soon as possible.

Access to journals from IEEE, Springer, Emerald, Taylor & Francis and Wiley - no more proxy errors

We're glad to say we have a solution to the "proxy error" problems affecting ejournal content from IEEE, Springer, Emerald, Taylor & Francis and Wiley over the last few weeks.

You should no longer get an error message when trying to access articles from these publishers, whether via DISCOVER or via the library catalogue.

If you do get any further errors, please let us know.

Proxy Error problems

We have a known problem with error messages like this appearing when trying to access Wiley, Taylor & Francis and Emerald journals, among others:

We are working to minimise the problem but in the meantime if you come across this error there are a few things you can do.

If you have followed a link to the article from BREO or Reading Lists (but not DISCOVER), you could try editing the link

to take out the 0- and brum.beds.ac.uk parts. For example:

http://0-www.tandfonline.com.brum.beds.ac.uk/doi/abs/10.1080/09687590050058251

becomes

http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/09687590050058251

If you're on campus, this will take you to the article - if you're off campus, look for a Login option, and choose "Login via your institution" and "Shibboleth". Each publisher's site will look slightly different, but when you get to the Shibboleth option you need to pick University of Bedfordshire from the list and login via our login page. (If you get a Stale Request Message, try the link again - it should work the second time.)

If this isn't an option, check the library catalogue for the journal title (not the article title), as will put up alternative links wherever possible. Links with "via UK Access Management Federation" in the description are not affected by the problem, and neither are links specifically for On-campus use.

(If when trying to use one of these links you get a Stale Request Message, try the link again - it should work the second time.) You'll have to navigate to the volume and issue you need, but you will get access.

If none of these options work for you please contact us and we will find a way to get access for you.

Proxy error problems - Wiley journals now also affected.

We've been warned of downtime affecting Wiley Online ejournals and the Cochrane library on Saturday 9th August, from 10 am to approximately 2 pm. This will affect any resource with onlinelibrary.wiley.com in the URL.

All the e-journals we get from the publisher Wiley are currently unavailable - this includes all journals with wileyonlinelibrary.com in the url. This downtime was unexpected and we have no information yet on when the site will be available again

Wiley Online Library and The Cochrane Library downtime - 28th September

We've been warned that Wiley Online Library and the Cochrane Library will be unavailable on Saturday 28th September between 2 pm and 7 pm, while the publisher makes upgrades and improvements. 

Wiley journals at risk Saturday 27 October 10am-12 noon

We've been warned that our access to ejournals hosted by Wiley Online Library may be disrupted on Saturday 27 October between 10am and 12 noon, while the supplier upgrades their system. This will affect any ejournals with "wiley.com" in the URL.
