We are having some issues this morning with access to content from DISCOVER, particularly from Publications finder (where you search for journal titles), and with linking to articles that don't sit within the EBSCOhost platform. We have logged this with EBSCO and hope it will be fixed soon. If you are really for the content right now, copy the article/journal title and search for it on the open web, then you may need to navigate through the publishers' login options to get access to it (look for Institutional login option, then search for University of Bedfordshire).

JSTOR access problems
There are currently problems accessing JSTOR via UK Access Management Federation, with users getting error messages saying they are not granted access.
We have contacted JSTOR support, who are trying to solve this problem.
You can also log in using another method into JSTOR, using the link: http://0-www.jstor.org.brum.beds.ac.uk/ and your student number/UoB password. (Members of staff will need to use their barcode as their username, which starts with an x).
This alternative method works with Firefox and Microsoft Edge browsers, but may not work if you are using a Chrome browser.

Emerald journal problems
There is currently a problem with some links from the library
catalogue and DISCOVER to Emerald journals and articles in them. If you are
off-campus, you may get error messages following some links. Emerald are
working on this issue but meanwhile there are some workarounds if you have
problems.
1) From the library
catalogue, please use the link marked “via UK Access Management Federation”
2) From DISCOVER you
may need to log in to see the full
text of the article.
a) If you get the message: “You might not have access to
this content”, click on the Login button
b) You will then be asked your institution. Put in “Bedfordshire”,
click on the Find button and select University of Bedfordshire.
c) You will then be shown a University of Bedfordshire Login
button. Click on this and log in using your student number and UoB password.
If you still have problems, please contact
library.technical@beds.ac.uk

DISCOVER full text finder problems
There are currently problems within DISCOVER in getting access to the full text of some articles. You will get an error message if you click on green buttons within results which say "Access the Full Text"
Ebsco have been contacted about this problem. Other parts of DISCOVER are still working correctly, including access to the full text of articles from other sources.

UK Newspapers via Lexis Nexis - access problem and workaround
We're having intermittent problems accessing articles from UK Newspapers via Lexis Nexis - searching the database is OK, but when clicking on links to access articles we are sometimes getting this error message:
We have reported this to Lexis Nexis, and this is their reply:
This is currently a known issue and our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue. Their estimated time of resolution is on 16th November. As an interim measure, when students are on the search results list, at the top they will see an option to switch to Classic view. When they click the link the page will refresh to the old Lexis Library results format. They will be able to access the documents from that point.
