Science Direct journals unavailable Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th August

We've been advised that our Science Direct journals (any journal with www.sciencedirect.com in the URL) will be unavailable from 1.30pm on Saturday 25th August to 8.30am Sunday 26th, while the supplier Elsevier Publishing improves site functionality.

Exam papers working again

Exam papers are now opening correctly again, even when searching from the Digital Library tab. 

Please let us know if you have any further problems opening exam papers or other files from the catalogue,

ProQuest databases downtime Sunday 3 am - 3 pm

We've been warned that our ProQuest databases (including RefWorks) will be unavailable Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 03:00 for twelve (12) hours while the supplier performs an upgrade.

Exam papers update

We are still working on the problem with opening exam papers.  We now think that the problem only occurs if you have gone to the Digital Library page and done a search in the Exam Papers box.  If you have typed the exam title directly into the Quick Search box, you can open it correctly.

So, until we find a complete fix, you can use the digital library page to find exam papers, but then copy the title, go to Quick Search and paste in the title and search - you should then find that you when you have entered your username and password the exam paper opens correctly.

Exam papers and other pdfs not opening correctly

We are still having a problem with exam papers and other pdf material not opening correctly from the library catalogue, giving the error message

If this happens to you please email libacq@beds.ac.uk with full details of what you were trying to access and we will try our best to get a copy for you.

We have reported this issue to our supplier and they are trying to fix it for us.

Exam papers still unavailable

Unfortunately we are still having problems providing access to exam papers, and to some other types of material in the library catalogue.  The problem has been reported to our supplier and we hope to have it resolved before too long.

Exam papers currently unavailable

We are having a problem accessing online exam papers through the library catalogue, we are working on it but if you get the message "Sorry, the information you submitted was invalid. Please try again", please try again later today.

UK Access Management Federation temporary login screen and security issues

We are still having some technical issues with UK Access Management Federation resources, including Dawsonera ebooks and RefWorks.  We have a temporary login screen which looks different to the normal one but still works. You may however get a message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate", if so you can safely click "Continue to this website (not recommended)" and you will get through to the login screen.
