Dawsonera have reported that they are experiencing some technical problems today, but are working on them urgently.

If you find that you cannot access an ebook, please let us know, giving details of the book affected.

CBT nuggets update

Usage by some users of our subscription with CBT Nuggets has led to our account being temporarily disabled. Each CBT Nuggets video is protected by copyright, and pursuant to our License Agreement with CBT Nuggets, the users of this subscription account may not copy, distribute, or reproduce any CBT Nuggets content in any form. Any such occurrence will result in the immediate and permanent termination of our subscription with CBT Nuggets.

CBT Nuggets

We are having a problem with CBT Nuggets at the moment - some helpful student has tried to change our password, presumably to lock the rest of you out, and has now frozen the entire account. Please do not try to change passwords on library resources - it's very unhelpful to everyone else, and it won't work, because the password reset link comes to an email address which only staff have access to. Hopefully we will get access restored soon.

Emerald journals downtime, Friday 7th - Saturday 8th November

We've been warned of some downtime affecting ejournals on the Emerald Insight platform, from 11pm Friday 7th November to 3am Saturday 8th November. If you access the website during this time you may receive a 'connection timeout', or similar message. This will affect any journal with "www.emeraldinsight.com" in the url.

Problem with access to Springer ejournals

We are having issues accessing Springer ejournals via our proxy server, and you may get an error like this:

502 Bad Gateway

Connection to remote host returned error 14. 

We are investigating this, but in the meantime you can still access Springer journals:

• on campus, by going direct to SpringerLink without going through our proxy server
• off campus, via the UK Access Management Federation link and logging in with your UoB username and password
